Sustainability Impact Assessment

Overview

The purpose of sustainability assessments is to gather and report information for decision-making during different phases of the construction, design, and use of a building.

Building Sustainability Assessment (BSA) methods can be oriented to different scales of analysis: building material, building product, construction element, independent zone, building and the neighborhood. By analyzing the scopes of the most important sustainability support and assessment systems and tools Retro Energy Group distinguishes three types of assessment methods:

1. Systems to manage building performance (Performance Based Design);

2. Life-cycle assessment (LCA) systems;

3. Sustainable building rating and certification systems.
